PLAN B DANCE THEATRE present And Now… plan B’s brand new dance theatre production

PLAN B DANCE THEATRE present And Now… plan B’s brand new dance theatre production Reflecting on the sea change in Scotland in 2014, a tribe of lost children, full of charm, innocence and a comic disposition enter a beguiling dreamscape. They find an ethereal Neverland where present generations glimpse what promise may emerge when we finally grow up – if indeed we ever will. Accompanied by a powerful ambient score from award winning composer Jim Sutherland, the piece is overlaid with live music pulsating both rhythm and class – from the wonderfully, witty sax player Steve Kettley. This is the first opportunity to see plan B’s new ensemble – four of Scotland’s most electrifying dancers - Glen McArtney, Joanne Pirrie, Katie Armstrong and Kirsty Pollock. Choreographed by plan B’s Artistic Director, Frank McConnell, the piece will be a witty and inventive take on what it is we want to be when we grow up? As much to do with decision making in early adulthood and the choices we don’t remember making, as re-defining the shape of the nation in a post-referendum world. Joining Frank McConnell will be Jim Sutherland, a Scottish composer who has carried out commissions for film and television as well as for large-scale events and individual ensembles. He is also a prolific composer of Scottish folk tunes. Also collaborating will be designer Miranda Melville who has worked in dance, theatre, opera and film. Lighting will be designed by Jeanine Byrne, who has worked extensively across Scotland with companies inclusing Stellar Quines, Curious Seed and The Tron. This brand new production will appeal to audiences aged 8 upwards and will be performed with direct aplomb and generous alacrity.  Start time 7:30pm (Running time 70 minutes with no interval). Tickets £10 (OAPs £8, under 18s £5).
