Time for some shameless self promotion I'm afraid.
About once every 5-10 years the Community Wind Band invites various professional conductors and soloists and guest players from around Scotland and beyond to join us for a fun fill weekend of music making and this year it is on 13/14 May 2017. A band of between 40-50 players is expected led by Charles Hind.
We'll be performing some challenging music including new Compositions "The Olympic Flame" and "Tuba Odyssey" by Fran Otter. Joining us will be John Hodkin of Inner Tuba fame, the renowned cycling tuba player to perform the Tuba Odyssey.
Other pieces range from a beautiful arrangement of Mull of the Cool Bens, the self penned "John Whyte's Reel" and a rousing arrangement of four dances from West Side Story.
The final piece is a four movement spectacular "Paris Sketches."
There's a concert at which all the above and more will be played at the Duncansburgh Macintosh Church, Fort William at 4pm on Sunday, admission £5.
It would be great to see you there. The weather will have broken by then...
