On the 9th of May 1911, a promotion took place that would eclipse all other PR events across the motoring world when Henry Alexander drove a production Ford Model T up Ben Nevis. It took until the 13th of May to reach the summit, and 5 days to return to Fort William. The Ben Nevis Bronze Ford Group, in partnership with Nevis Range, aim to raise money to fund an original, unique and everlasting piece of sculpture to commemorate this historic event - a life size Bronze Ford Model T - to be placed in Fort William High Street.
Lochaber kids - are you brave enough?
We need the children of Lochaber to be brave enough for the challenge, complete a High Wire Adventure course and raise funds for this exciting project. Register your entry and download the sponsorship form using the links below. Raise as much as you can for a chance to win a fantastic visit to the Pantomime at Eden Court, as well as other great prizes. As well as completing the High Wire Adventure course you'll also see famous local faces and business teams competing to complete the course. There'll be lots of other activities including a treasure hunt, face painting, badge making and of course, lots of food. You will also get the chance to have your photo taken in a real Ford Model T car! Even if you're not participating, come along to cheer on and have a laugh. There's lots for everyone to do and see.
